As vice president and ambassador of Initiate Systems' Healthcare Practice, Lorraine is responsible for overall customer satisfaction of our healthcare customer base and leading Initiate's healthcare strategy development. She also manages relationships with industry influencers at the regional and national levels. Lorraine frequently speaks and publishes on topics such as regional health information organizations (RHIO), health data exchange, patient identification issues and best practices for master patient index (MPI) clean up. In addition, she serves on committees and workgroups for HIMSS, AHIMA and EHealth Initiatives.
Lorraine chaired the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) MPI Task Force in 1997 and served on various AHIMA committees from 1998-2005, including the AHIMA FORE Board of Directors. In addition, Ms. Fernandes served on the 2004 Connecting for Health workgroup, Accurately Linking Health Information, and the HIMSS RHIO Federation Workgroup. She was the recipient of the 1998 AHIMA Discovery Award and received the CHIA Distinguished Member Award in 2001.

As vice president of healthcare sales consulting, Michael leads a team of sales consultants in support of new customer activity through out North America including the US Provider market and the provincial rollout of solutions in support of Canada's Infoway led EHR initiative. He adds support to Initiate's global HC teams in Europe and the Pac Rim including Ireland and Australia.
Prior to joining Initiate Systems, Michael worked with Tier Technologies where he led the delivery of program management and large-scale database applications to both large corporations and government organizations. Michael also directed the development and delivery of clinical information systems for Kaiser Permanente's Northern California region. Before that, he served as a vice president for First Data Corporation's Health System Group. As vice president for Gerber Alley, a prominent HIS provider, he developed and led technology, development and support organizations.

Michael is responsible for sales to the healthcare provider market. With more than a dozen years experience in the healthcare industry, Michael most recently served as national sales manager of Cerner Corporation where he was responsible for all sales, pre-sales consulting, and account management of Cerner's Access Management and Patient Accounting enterprises. In addition, Michael held positions as regional manager, account executive and product specialist within the Resource Management Group of HBOC while working for McKesson Corporation.
Michael graduated from Eastern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and Minor in Business Administration.

As senior director of healthcare practice at Initiate Systems, Inc., Michele provides Domain Expertise for Healthcare Organizations facing Identity Management challenges. Additionally, Michele serves as Initiate Systems’ Chief Privacy Officer.
Michele has over 25 years of service in health information management and extensive experience reorganizing and consolidating medical records and patient registration operations. Additional areas of expertise include: policy and procedure revisions; regulatory compliance; streamlining workflow and maximizing productivity; and implementation of organization-wide information systems. A Fellow of the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) and member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Michele has many professional affiliations and serves on various healthcare association committees. She is a frequent speaker at healthcare conferences and a contributing author to numerous publications.

Michael Warthen
Director, Data Exchange Sales
Michael is responsible for the sales strategy and sales team for data exchanges at national, state and local levels. Throughout his career, Michael has held a variety of sales, marketing and management positions with IBM, Cerner, SMS (Siemens) and SeeBeyond. He was also a founder of MedAssure, a company that provided portable medical records via smart card technology. Before joining Initiate Systems, Michael was vice president of sales and business development for 4medica, a provider of Internet-based lab order entry and results solutions.
Michael has over 20 years of experience in healthcare information systems and is a past faculty member of the Health Information Management Systems Society (HIMSS) and Toward an Electronic Patient Record (TEPR).
