CHICAGO and PARIS (28 May 2008) – Today, during the European Congress of Health Information Systems (HIT Paris 2008), Initiate Systems, Inc., a leader in master data management (MDM) and enterprise master person index (EMPI) solutions, and E.Novation, a leader in the exchange of information within the healthcare sector, announced that they have signed an agreement to jointly market the Initiate® Health Information Exchange Solution to healthcare organizations in France, the Netherlands and Switzerland.
Initiate Health Information Exchange is designed to serve as a foundation for connecting data within and between healthcare networks. With this foundation in place, healthcare organizations will be able to share patient and provider data within and across their ecosystem in order to support more accurate, consolidated views.
E.Novation is an established market-leading provider of enterprise application integration (EAI) tools with over 70 implementations of Healthvision’s Cloverleaf® Integration Suite at hospitals in France. E.Novation can now include Initiate’s solutions for accurate matching and sharing of patient and provider data to its integrated solution offering.

E.Novation and Initiate Systems also announced that they have signed their first joint customer: Fédération des Hôpitaux Vaudois Informatique (FHVI). According to the sales agreement, E.Novation will provide implementation and solution integration services for Initiate Patient™ and Initiate Provider™ software at FHVI.
“With this health information exchange software, E.Novation and Initiate bring enterprise-wide indices for master patient and health professional data to our healthcare organization,” said Philippe Theytaz, director, Fédération des Hôpitaux Vaudois Informatique (FHVI). “Initiate Patient and Initiate Provider will serve as the foundation for information sharing between the thirteen private hospitals of public interest for the canton of Vaud, Switzerland.”
