CHICAGO (17 March 2008) – Initiate Systems, Inc., a leader in master data management (MDM) solutions, announced today that its customer Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota will present an MDM implementation success story this week at the DAMA International Symposium & Wilshire Meta-Data Conference in San Diego, California. Initiate also announced that its Chief Technology Officer, Marty Moseley, will present on keys to successful data governance at the same conference.
Nathan Funk, a system architect in the enterprise architecture services department of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, will present “How a Health Plan Administrator Approaches MDM” at 10:15 a.m. PDT on Tuesday, March 18. Funk will explain to conference attendees how his organization implemented Initiate® software as a strategy for managing 15 million member records from six source systems and more than 37 million claims each year.
Moseley will present “Keys to Data Governance Success – Teamwork and an Iterative Approach” at 11:15 a.m. PDT on Wednesday, March 19.
“Unless an organization adopts a data governance practice that helps them know and trust their data, they run the risk of failing to manage data as an asset,” Moseley said of his presentation. “But many resist beginning data governance because they feel that they must take a top-down, ‘all or nothing’ approach. In reality, starting small by employing a ‘bite size,’ iterative strategy with strong team engagement can produce superior results and be cost effective in the bargain.”
Initiate also will provide demonstrations of its master data management software solutions at the conference in booth #109.
